Renesa Architecture principal designer
Sanchit Arora is the Principal Architect and Studio Head of Renesa Architecture Design Interiors, one of India's top 25 architectural firms recognized internationally for its innovative and sustainable design philosophy. Working alongside his father, Sanjay Arora, who founded Renesa in 2006, Sanchit represents the next generation of visionary designers blending traditional Indian architectural practices with contemporary global aesthetics. A graduate from Sushant School of Art & Architecture, Gurgaon, Sanchit received prestigious educational scholarships from renowned institutions including the Architectural Association (AA) School of Architecture in London and Politecnico Milano in Italy, reflecting his exceptional talent from early on.
Sanchit graduated with top honors, earning a spot on the Dean's List for his groundbreaking thesis "The Shadow Spaces: Invisible Sacred Landscapes of Indian Cities," which critically examined the contemporary role of crematoriums in Indian society. His proposed extension to the Green Park Crematorium in South Delhi aimed to create an architecture that marries poetry and functionality, spaces respectful, experiential, and user-friendly for those mourning. This work won him the prestigious NASA (National Association of Students of Architecture) Thesis of the Year award, NDTV Students Award, and Jury Commendation for Best Thesis Project.
Under Sanchit's creative leadership, Renesa has completed numerous award-winning projects including Rosie and Tillie (a terracotta and terrazzo brunch bar featured in Dezeen), Casa Brut (minimalistic brutalism), The Tetrisception/Maple Bear School, and The Focal Length optical gallery. The firm has received multiple accolades including Kohler Bold Awards (Top 3 in Hospitality), ArchDaily Top 5 Projects recognition, Dezeen Awards, and Designboom Awards. Renesa's portfolio spans large commercial projects including airports, sports complexes, head-office buildings, restaurants, and residential spaces, all characterized by an amalgamation of traditional materials with innovative design solutions.
